Annalise and her three children, Aidan, Zeb and Jordan at the Key West High School graduation for twins, Jordan and Aidan. Aidan is now a registered nurse, Zeb is a business development manager and screenwriter, and Jordan is a construction manager.

Annalise Mannix is a longtime civil servant who spent more than 20 years at the City of Key West in various positions, including Environmental Programs Manager and Director of Engineering, and Logistics Chief for the Emergency Operations Center. During that time, she held leadership roles in various community organizations dedicated to the environment, climate adaptation, wind-storm insurance rates and local youth.

As the Executive Director of Fair Insurance Rates in Monroe, she fought in Tallahassee for fair windstorm insurance policies for Monroe County homeowners. Her work limited windstorm insurance rates to a maximum 10% increase each year, while insurance companies were fighting for a 40% yearly increase. Due to her tireless work at FIRM on behalf of Monroe County residents, she was appointed as a Consumer Advocate for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

As Chair of the Monroe County Climate Advisory Board, she helped craft the Monroe County Climate Action Plan, a blueprint for climate change adaptation and mitigation in the County.

On behalf of the City of Key West, she helped develop the Keys’ relationship with the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Compact, an effort by four Southeast Florida counties to work together to plan for climate change mitigation and adaptation. She also won hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of grants that allowed Key West to make investments in public infrastructure.

In between that, she squeezed in time to raise three fabulous children, coach soccer and be a board member for AYSO and Montessori Charter School.

Annalise graduated from SUNY Maritime College and was given a commission in the United States Naval Reserve as an Ensign. She left the reserves as a Lieutenant.
